During one of her last Skype conversations she had with Vincent, Kailey's roommate Raven witnesses their conversation and immediately senses that Vincent is being soul-drained by a succubus. Since Raven is a witch, Kailey has no doubt about her friend's perception and concludes that Cassie must be the demon responsible.
Kailey leaves Boston and flies to Seattle for her brother's funeral. While there she investigates the circumstance surrounding his death. She uncovers dark information that leads her to Nocturnal Trinity, a nightclub in the heart of Seattle. And worse, the underground club is run by a powerful alliance of vampires, demons, and witches that wish to protect Cassie at all costs, which includes killing Kailey or anyone else if necessary.

It starts with her brother's death...

...and that's all I'll say about the story itself. I had the pleasure of reading a pre-publication copy of this book and I enjoyed it. The number of demon based books I've read is rather small but I'm happy to have this one in my collection. Due to the nature of the story, there are some fight scenes and therefore a bit of violence. By my standards, I do not consider the occasional violence and one sex scene to be graphic or explicit. Both have been dealt with tastefully. I love the characters. The author wrote them so, to me, they seemed believable. I do love the writing style of this author and had me wrapped up with the right amount of suspense and wondering what will happen next, where I hated having to put it down to do other things. I look forward to their next book.

Succubus is one of those fantastic novels that has the incredible ability to successfully capture several different literary realms into one. There is mystery, fantasy, humor, and even a little romance entwined amongst the themes. It's pages beckon to every eager adult in some fashion; especially because they hold no trace of repetitive plot lines and offer excitement. Succubus is unique, sexy and captivating and the characters within are blossoming with intrigue. Welcome to the night, a world of dark and dangerous secrets; a world of seductive mystique. You may not want to leave once you entered, but take my advice, the temptation is so worth it.
